Customers love their Miami Missionary Tent

My father purchased a tent for his circus and it was beautiful! Not only was it designed & catered to our needs, but the staff was welcoming & courteous. It was easy to set up and easy to tear down.
I'm looking forward to the day when I will be able to purchase a tent from Miami Missionary Tent Co. Inc. for my future Christian Circus! Until then, I will continue to highly recommend them to anyone who needs a quality tent.
~God bless~   Krizia Carr

We purchased our 18oz. 52 x 76 oval pole tent over 8 years ago for camp meetings, revivals, funerals, weddings, and larger church services/ functions. Our tent was used on average 15 times a year for more than a week at a time. I have to admit this tent is holding up very well, we set up in dry, hot dusty conditions. We've set it up among shrubs, rocks, and sand that dyes the tent material red. Those conditions are adverse and not recommended for the tent but our tent still looks great and is holding up well, we expect it to last another 8 years.   Alex Gilmoretar

I just bought the best tent that can last me forever.  Thank you Miami missionary tent, just love my tent, all the way from Page Arizona.    God bless you.   Randy Yazzie

“Hi Tammy and David and all the crew at Miami Tent. I would like to say thank you for our wonderful marquees. We love them and the quality is as always fantastic. So we would like to say a massive thank you to all the crew who made these tents happen. We like them so much we are thinking of buying 2 red and blue 30 x 40 pole tents. So thank you again. We are going to have a really good time sharing these tents with the world. Miami tents are the best in the world!!! We are so very happy that we finally got it together to purchase them. Thank you for your patience.” Gary Davis
“I purchased my 40′ x 120′ rectangle tent from Miami Tent in 2008. I have used it frequently and I am very satisfied. On one occasion, I had the tent set up near a construction site. A 60′ x 200′ metal building was going up. A storm came through and blew the building down but the tent remained standing. I was very impressed. The tents I have purchased from other companies tend to collect water where my Miami Tent does not. The quality, durability and price combination are unmatched. The design of their tent allows for quick, easy and secure setup. I have recommended Miami Tent to many of my customers and acquaintances.” – Rick Hoffman

New tent at used tent price

In the early 90’s, a new 90″ wide 14 oz tent vinyl was developed especially for Miami Missionary Tent that we use in our round tents, oval tents, party tents, and missionary tents exclusively. It is not only of the highest quality tent vinyl but is very affordable with the strength and life that match a heavier and more costly tent vinyl.
This custom 14 oz tent vinyl film, in combination with our world class technicians, produce a tent that far exceeds our competition in quality and strength. Its strength to weight ratio is greater because pound for pound, the polyester inside the vinyl is 100% stronger than cotton and it will retain its strength for many years. It is durable because it is exceptionally resistant to abrasion, holing, chemicals and grease. Permanently fire resistant and meets all the requirements of the NFPA 701 Large Scale Flame Test and the California State Fire Marshall Small Scale Test. Flame resistance and char length meets and exceeds California state Fire Marshall requirements. Certificates of flame resistance are also sent with every tent shipment.
Now customers around the world can purchase a new round or oval tent at a used tent price.
Now in 2017 we have this same product in a 16 oz blackout white.   This only cost's a little more than the 14 oz and will provide cooler temperatures during the day.
Let me share with you two recent customer testimonials:
David Angel, Angel Ministries, Virginia:
“I bought a 36′ x 80′ (14 oz.) gospel tent from you last August (2001) and we love it. The first time we set the tent up it rained really hard and we had not got the tent as tight as we do now and two pockets formed and started to pool… the tent held all that water with-out tearing even though it was almost on the ground. You all sure do make a fine product. Praise God.”
Chris Maytag, California:
“I purchased a 36′ (14 oz) tent from you in midsummer, and was truly impressed by it’s durability, well thought out design, etc….this tent survived sustained winds of 60 mph, with gusts to 100+. AMAZING.”
Our party tents, commercial tents and missionary tents are of the finest quality and very affordable. Remember not only can you get a new round or oval tent at a used price but a tent that will last years longer.

4 Excellent reasons to buy a party tent

All of us at Miami Missionary Tent are so glad that you have decided to check out our great selection of party tents for sale.  In this article I have highlighted why you should buy a party tent from us. You will see our tents are designed to be the strongest made anywhere in the world with the highest quality construction. We have a wide selection of tents for sale. With so many party tents to choose from you will see we have a tent anyone can afford. The design and materials are unmatched in quality. Many of the vinyl’s are custom made only for Miami Tent.
Reason #1 Quality
Our tents are designed to be the strongest, most reliable and longest lived party tents for sale in America. 34 years ago we worked very hard to develop a new 18 oz. premium tent vinyl. This is custom made for us and is used exclusively in our round and oval tents. These were initially used by missionaries to be left up year round to plant churches. Now these tents are used all over the world for both ministries and commercial customers for party tents, rentals, fireworks, weddings, events, etc..
Reason #2  Affordability
Over 20 years ago a new 90″ wide tent vinyl was developed only for our company. We use this in our round and oval party tents. This is a very high quality tent vinyl with tremendous sun life and yet it is still very affordable. It will perform in wind and weather as though it was a much heavier vinyl.  As all of our vinyl’s, it is exceptionally resistant to abrasion and holing and it is permanently fire resistant.
Reason #3  Better design and materials
When Miami Missionary Tent first began to build tents for church planting, we knew they needed to be left up year round.  To accomplish this we had to design a superior but affordable tent.  We chose to manufacture pole tents and use a unique tent vinyl laminate made to our specifications. This allows them to stand 2 to 3 times longer than industry standard.   The fabric used in the 18 oz. laminate is much thicker than normal at 1300 x 1800 denier polyester.   Most companies only use 1000 x 1000 denier. Our vinyl is 100% stronger!   It also contains extra titanium dioxide which allows our vinyl to outperform all others in sun resistance, abrasion resistance and length of life. We manufacture these tents with seat belts on every seam, both vertically and horizontally, with triple stitching and all steel to steel connections. This makes for a wonderful party tent for sale. We recognized the need for superior strength party tents as well as the tents we were manufacturing for ministries.
Reason #4  Large variety of party tents for sale
For the first 10 years, Miami Missionary Tent primarily manufactured our superior strength round and oval tents for ministries. About 25 years ago we decided to build square and rectangle tents for commercial party tents the same way.  Now we have round and oval tents in custom made white, yellow and blue vinyl. The 14 oz. square and rectangle tents are available in 18 different colors. The 16 oz. square and rectangle party tents are available in white, blue, yellow, green and red. Now more than ever, our customers have a large selection of party tents for sale in a vast array of sizes, shapes, colors and prices.

Pole tent vs Frame tent

Making the decision on whether to purchase a pole tent or frame tent for your business or ministry is very important. While you are making this decision, it is very critical to find one that perfectly matches what you need. For many people the idea of making this choice can be quite intimidating. If you’ve never purchased a tent before it can be hard to tell exactly what you need.
The pole tent and frame tent each have their own unique style and advantages, but you shouldn’t be concerned if you feel a bit lost. In this article I will show the advantages of both tents. Although the pole tent and frame tent are both excellent choices, I will show you that the pole tent is by far the most popular choice because of ease of set-up, transportation, price and strength against the weather.
Advantages of a pole tent
1. Cost: Pole tents are normally much less expensive than frame tents. That makes them the most popular choice in tents for all types of uses like parties, rentals, revivals, fireworks as well as disaster relief. They are supported by wall poles on edge and center poles in the middle. They rely on tension from stakes and tie downs to keep them tight. They can cover much more area for less money than any other type of tent.
2. Weather resistance: Pole tents will withstand much higher wind loads than a frame tent.
3. Ease & speed of set up: A pole tent is much easier to erect than a frame tent. They are very popular among business owners because the parts are normally not as heavy. It typically takes 1/3 of the time and 1/3 of the crew to set up a pole tent as compared to a frame tent. That is a huge difference in your pocket book each year.
4. Replacement parts: The hardware for a pole tent is easily replaced if they are lost or damaged. You can quickly borrow poles or stakes from another tent or find replacement parts at a nearby store.
5. Ease of transport: Pole tents are much easier to transport compared to a frame tent. You can transport small to medium size pole tents in a pickup or small trailer.
Advantages of a frame tent
1. The primary advantage of a frame tent compared to a pole tent is that it doesn’t have center poles in the middle. To some event planners this is critical to what they have planned for their event.
2. They are also ideal for events that are indoors where you are not allowed to drive stakes.
3. Frame tents can also be erected next to a building or another frame tent.
What is your best choice, a pole tent or a frame tent?
Overall, a pole tent is the best choice over a frame tent because as mentioned above, pole tents are less expensive. They are much more weather resistant. If the frame of your frame tent bends in a storm you can lose your tent top since it is attached to the frame. A pole tent would not suffer the same kind of damage. And since a frame tent has such specialized hardware, if you break or lose a part of it you will probably not have use of the tent until you can get a replacement part. The parts of a frame tent are more difficult to transport compared to a pole tent. Some people might think they don’t have to drive stakes in the ground for a frame tent but unless you are using your frame tent indoors, it must be held in place by stakes, water barrels or concrete medians.
The price and strength of a pole tent compared to a frame tent is simply unmatched. Although there will be occasions when you must have a frame tent, most of the time the pole tent will be the best choice for you and your business.

Expert advice for choosing party tents

Christmas is right around the corner and as you know, it is a time when people have all types of celebrations.   You should start making plans now for your Christmas parties. When it comes to preparing for a party, there are a few important things that you should keep in mind. For example, you need to understand exactly what things you need to make the party a success. There are several critical items that you ought to think about for your party which could include a party tent. These party tents are particularly important when you are having an outdoor party. You need to offer a great shelter for your visitors so that they can take pleasure in the party knowing they have cover no matter the weather.
Many people use tents at home and for their business for parties and events.  Over the years, this has caused the creation of various types of party tents.  Unfortunately, some of these tents are improperly designed which means they might not offer your visitors with the very best party experience. Others are manufactured using extremely low-grade products so they will get damaged/worn after only a few months.  This would require you to spend even more cash replacing them. That is why you should use caution when choosing your tent. You should guarantee that you get the best tent for your customers.  But the question many people have is, how do I select the best tent from such a wide range of  party tents?  The truth is that it can be difficult with so many choices.   There are many helpful pointers that can help you choose the very best tent.
For starters, you need to guarantee that you understand the exact need for purchasing the tent. If you want the tent for your guest’s shelter, then you have to pick one that offers enough shade. The tent must be strong enough to withstand all sorts of extreme weather which could be strong winds, rain, etc..   An excellent tent is one that can last for many years while handling harsh conditions. This means that you need to consider the kind of materials used in the manufacturing of the tent.  Because party tents are designed for outdoor events, they need to be made of high quality products.
It is also important to consider how easy and how long it takes to set up the tent you plan to buy. Sometimes you might have to put the tent up quickly, particularly if the party is about to kickoff.   Because of that,  you should consider the weight of the tent before purchasing.   There are many choices of lighter weight tents that are made from highly durable materials. Still, many people choose the heavier tents because they are will last longer.    As always, you want your tent to have a nice appearance.

How to maintain your party or pole tent

Maintaining your tent is certainly about checking and fixing obvious defects in the tent fabric and hardware as well as tent set up and take down.    It also includes communicating with customers about where the tent will be set, potential obstructions like overhead wires as well as possible temperature changes.   Even proper maintenance of your vehicles used to deliver and install the tent is important.
Following are helpful tips on how to care for your pole tent in order to achieve the longest life possible.
Tip #1  Don’t get it dirty
That is easier said than done but a good starting point.    If possible, always have a drop cloth available and keep the vinyl dry.   If you do get it dirty we recommend spreading the tent out on grass, get wide nylon bristle brooms, take your shoes off, spread non concentrated laundry detergent out, add water and get to work.   That will take most of the dirt off.   You can experiment with different spot cleaners for bad areas.  Always test small area first.  For other tough areas you can use 3 parts water 1 part Clorox to scrub with.
Do one panel at a time and then wash off immediately, otherwise it will take gloss off top of tent. You can use this same mix of Clorox and water on underside, where seat belts show, and actually let it dry without washing off. This will help fight mildew in the future.
Many larger rental companies will use industrial washing machines for their tents.   This is a wonderful option for fast cleaning but use caution.   This process is fast but can also wear the tent vinyl out faster.   It can also cause lace lines to expand and cause the tent to not stretch out properly.
Tip #2   Check and repair obvious damage or defects
While taking your tent down it is critical to check for moisture.  Water and wind are your worst enemies.   Mold-resistant fabrics have helped reduce the concern of ruining your beautiful wedding quality event tent, but there are no guarantees with this technology.  Over time, it is likely that some of your older tents may not be as “mold resistant”.
After every tent has been taken down and the tent top/sidewall vinyl has been inspected, it is important to check all of the poles/hardware as well.    Patch rips, cuts and tears before they expand and cause further damage.  With your hardware, especially hardware that touches the vinyl, wipe it clean before use to protect the vinyl from staining.  All webbing, stitches, seams, steel rings & snap hooks should be checked to make sure they are in good working order.  Stakes should be straight and ropes or truckers ratchets should be in good condition.
Tip #3   Proper storage
The best choice would be to have all of your tents placed on pallets and then up on some kind of “racking system”.   This would allow air circulation between the tent bag and the floor and prevent moisture from getting into the your tent bag and tent.    You do not want your tent vinyl on the floor.    It is very easy to pick up moisture and cause staining on the product.   If you don’t have a “racking system” you would need to use a waterproof tarp on the floor and put the tents on top of it.  Any tent that is taken down wet has to be properly dried before storing.    Also, it is important to not fold your sidewall in the same place every time.   This will help extend their life.
Temperature also can affect tent storage.  Miami Tent Company have shipped our pole tents to 143 different countries and possessions around the world.   That covers about any climate you can imagine.   If you are storing your tent over the winter, avoid moving if possible.  Do not move them if your storage area is less than 40 degrees Fahrenheit (4.5 degrees Celsius). Once you bring them out of storage, allow them to sit overnight in a warm room 60 degrees Fahrenheit (15.6 degrees Celsius) before removing them from their storage bag.

Great tips for any tent event

Every year tents have become more and more popular for uses like weddings, special events, revivals, church , etc..  Event tent planners, rental companies and others have continued to make their tents more glamorized by using pleated ceilings, swag, specialized lighting, furniture and decor. Planning an event involves a lot of time, dedication and detailed work by the event planner.   With good communication between the event team and their customer and vendors, there can be a wonderfully successful event.
The ceiling:  Whether the event tent is for a wedding, corporate event or general celebration, the decor inside is critical. There are many different choices for the ceiling that can really take the breath away from the guests as they enter the tent and look up.   A pleated ceiling is very popular.    They are a classic and elegant choice.   Typically available in many colors there are choices for very professional and upscale events to casual ones.   They come in a prefabricated pleat which is a tent liner already  pre-sewn and a pleated fabric ceiling liner that is manually installed with rolls of fabric in a pleated fashion.    The second choice takes much more time to install but allows you to make a more custom appearance.
The Lighting:  If you have chosen your pole tent or frame tent and know how you want the ceiling, you are probably thinking about how to properly light your tent.   There is nothing as beautiful as having the combination of a ceiling and lighting.    There are many choices:  String lights look great against any tent ceiling.   They are easily draped at different angles or right up near the tent top.   They provide great reflection and help natural light.     Twinkle lights are like string lights but they have smaller bulbs and are closer together.   They are often used to wrap around the poles as well as between the layers of ceiling decor.    Either choices will automatically enhance your event tent.     Up-lighting is another popular choice.  They are placed on the floor to wash/splash lighting on different areas of your tent top.   You want the amount and color of the lights to work well with your interior design.     Lighting is very important for your event.  It’s not just about what type of lighting you use but how it will work with your decor, furniture, etc.. That will set the mood of the party or event so plan carefully and make good choices.
Furniture:    Most events require tables, chairs, couches, dance floor, staging, linens, etc..     What you choose depends on what type of event you are having.   For a casual event the most simple tables and folding chairs can suffice but If it is for a corporate event or wedding there are many beautiful choices.   You can use nicer padded chairs and even add some arm chairs, couches and  taller tables for guest to enjoy their food & drink.   Be sure and create a floor plan that best uses the space available within the tent.    Linens simply need to match the event you are having.   You might use simple cotton or use high end table clothes and napkins for a corporate tent event or party.
Decor:   Decor will be unique because it reflects on the individual or group of people designing the layout under a tent. The lighting, center pieces, wall designs, pipe & drape, flooring, etc. will not only reflect the designer but should also go with theme of the event.
With basic tent event planning knowledge and working closely with your customer and vendors, you will have a wonderfully successful event.    All of your hard work will pay off with many referrals and the continuing knowledge of what works best.   This will allow you to make your clients happy and wanting to have another tent event again.

Party tents and their myriad of uses

A party tent is popular choice for wedding events, trade fairs and other outdoor events where 50 or more people gather together. This type of tent is more costly than traditional canopies used in the backyard and it usually requires a few extra people to set up. Party tents for special events are harder to set up than regular canopy tents.  That’s why sometimes they are rented instead of being purchased. The majority of tent rental companies that offer these tents for lease also offer services for “pitching” and “striking” the tent.
If you need a party tent for your event you will need to first consider the area where the tent will be erected. Companies that provide tent rental services commonly charge additional fees if the venue is not exactly the best location to set up a tent.  For example, a concrete surface will be more difficult to set up on than grass. The distance of the event from the rental company is also important to consider because typically the greater the distance the greater the cost.
Weddings are a more common event  that would use party tents. Since weddings don’t happen frequently, most people would prefer to rent a tent rather than purchase one.  When tents are used for something more frequent than the occasional event or wedding, people are more inclined to buy a party tent instead of renting one. Tents for weddings come in various designs and colors, although white is by far the most common choice. Tent manufacturers who offer wedding tents often provide accessories such as carpet, flooring, platforms, tent designs, awnings and even lighting. The type of tent that will be used for a party needs to be chosen with the weather in mind. If the party will be held during the summer, tents without sidewall are the most common.  These party tents for summertime parties are normally set up with only the tent top and the necessary center and wall poles.
These type of tents are called pole tents. Pole tents became very popular in the United States back in the 1950’s for use as tents for church planting and revival meetings. Pole tents became extremely popular back in those days due to their classic look and ease of set up. Frame tents are another type of party tent for events and parties. Frame tents do not use center or wall poles. Instead, the tent is supported with a framed assembly and anchored with stakes and secured with guy ropes on the outer perimeter.   This allows the center to be completely free so that people can move without a center pole obscuring their view or keeping them from dancing at the center.

Party tents for sale part 2

Part 2:  How Big Should My Party Tent Be?

There is no simple way to respond to this question. Since your area requirements are so critical to your individual need, it can be difficult to determine exactly how big your party tent should be. Nevertheless, you can get a rough idea of just how much space a certain event may require and use that to determine an appropriate tent size. If your event is fairly basic and doesn’t include a lot of extra furnishings, allowing something between 10 to 12 sq. ft. per guest is a reasonable amount. However, if your party requires a very specific amount of space for a particular event, here are a couple of standards you can use to come up with an area quote:

Auditorium-Style Seating

If you’re hosting a speech or another kind of occasion where your chairs are going to be lined up in rows, it’s a great idea to permit at least 6 sq. ft. per chair.  Keep in mind that if you’re using particularly large chairs or have visitors that require more area to maneuver, you’re going to require more space.

Events with Meals

If you’re planning to serve a meal, the amount of space you’ll need will mostly depend on the dimensions of the tables you select along with the number of people that will be seated at every one. Attempt to allow a minimum of 12 sq. ft. per individual when making use of round tables and 10 square ft. per individual when using rectangle-shaped ones. It’s also important to think about the type of service you are preparing for like; suppers with table-side service which are going to need additional space in order to ensure that your servers will have adequate room to work.

Bonus Furniture

If your event needs additional home furnishings like a dance floor, buffet table or bar, you need to take the dimensions of these items into account when figuring how much space you’ll need.

Caterers, DJs, and Bands

Caterers, DJs, and bands can all come with a large amount of devices.  If you’re working with any of these for your occasion be sure to ask each service provider just how much space they’ll need prior to picking a tent size.

Party tents for sale

You already understand why a dependable party tent is an essential part of any outside gathering.  However, all that understanding does not make the process of choosing any easier. In truth, it really makes it much more stressful due to the fact that you understand exactly what can occur if you do not make the ideal choice. That does not mean you need to panic or draw out your reliable Magic 8 Ball. The following guide can help you filter through all the different tent types, sizes, and designs in order to find one that will work best for you.

Part 1: Basic Tent Types

The category of party tents is among the most generally specified in the tent and canopy industry. Strictly speaking, virtually any shelter you can throw a party under can be thought of as a party tent. However, within that huge sea of choices, there are really only 4 different kinds of tent. Have a look at the descriptions below to determine which one would be the best fit for you.

Instant Canopies

Instantaneous canopies are the least costly kind of party tent. Created with a focus on convenience, they make use of accordion-style frames that can be established in just a couple of minutes without any devices. They are incredibly light, compact and sufficient to be easily transferred in a storage bag.
However, that does not mean that they are a good option for each situation.  For example, instant canopies rarely come any bigger than twenty by twenty. That means you would require many of them if you decided to host a bigger occasion. This could trigger logistical as well as budgetary issues. They’re also not designed to be left up for extended periods and cannot handle the same type of abuse as other types of celebration tents. If you’re searching for a real workhorse, a pop up might not be the best option for you.

Pole Tents

Pole Tents, as their name recommends, are supported by border and center poles. They count on the stress produced by stakes or other tie downs to keep the roof tight and stable. As a result, they’re lightweight and relatively simple to establish, even in bigger sizes. They’re also the most cost-effective when it pertains to covering huge areas. A pole tent is always going to let you secure more ground for less money than a frame or tension tent.
Another reason for the popularity of pole tents is their adaptability. They are available in a big variety of sizes, including everything from a modest 10 by 10 foot all the way up to as big as a 154 by 500 foot. Their tops also are available in a large choice of colors and designs, making it fairly simple to find one that has the look you want.
There are, nevertheless, a few downsides to making use of a pole tent. The most significant one pertains to placement. Due to the fact that this type of shelter depends on stress to keep the top from collapsing, you’ve got very few choices when it concerns staking. You need to permit, usually, an additional five to ten feet of area on all sides of your tent to accommodate the needed staking. That means if you needed to install them right up against a building or structure, it would require custom preparation to attach and secure the tent on that side. And, unless you don’t mind making a bunch of holes in the floor, they’re definitely not suitable for use indoors.
Their center supports can likewise present problems. The poles are typically high tensile galvanized steel or aluminum. The silver and gray color are very neutral so they don’t stand out but some people will simply not want poles in their tent. They can make it challenging to include bigger objects, such as a dance floor, into your design, and there are going to be some layouts they simply won’t fit in to. If you’re preparing to host an event that needs a really specific set up, a pole tent may not be the best choice for you.

Frame Tents

Rather than rely on the tension from stakes, frame tents utilize a tubular metal structure to support their canopies. This permits them to work without the support of center poles and gives them far more placement flexibility than pole tents. You can use them alongside structures in addition to inside. They likewise work well as semi-permanent structures.
All of this flexibility comes at a price, however. Frame tents are normally substantially more expensive than both pole and stress shelters and are considerably heavier. They also require a lot more work to establish. A frame tent can easily take 4 times longer to install than a comparably-sized pole design. And, since it uses extremely specialized hardware, losing or damaging just a single part of it will certainly make your frame canopy useless until you can get a replacement from the manufacturer. It’s just not possible to develop temporary replacement parts as easily as you can with a pole tent.
Even the variety of sizes available is impacted by their design. There are limits on how broad you can make a structure without including internal supports. Forty feet is normally the biggest width available for a frame tent. There’s no limit on how long they can be, though, and they normally have the very same color option as other kinds of shelters so there’s still a good chance you’ll be able to find one that works for you. The real concern you need to have when considering a frame tent, is just how much you’re willing to trade for some additional flexibility. If your practical needs are the concern and you’re prepared to handle the additional expenses and work included with making use of one, a frame tent may be an excellent alternative.

Stress Tents

Tension tents are really just like traditional pole tents. They use border and center poles for support and depend on tension from tie-downs to keep the roofing system in location. As a result, they share the portability and setup simplicity of standard pole-based structures. In fact, the only genuine structural distinction between stress and other pole canopies is the size of their peaks.Tension canopies have much taller peaks than other shelters – they’re really often described as “high peak” tents – and can for that reason provide a more striking look. You’ll find them at lots of formal and business occasions.
This design also has some practical benefits. Those tall, aerodynamic peaks actually enhance wind resistance and drain, enabling stress tents to hold up quite well against extreme weather. Some designs are suitable for use as long-term structures.
Naturally, because stress tents are form of pole tent, they have the exact same type of restrictions.  You need to leave a reasonable quantity of clearance for staking and without custom preparation, you can’t use them right alongside buildings or indoors.  Although these canopies have a large, open feel, they still have center poles that can interfere with visibility and certain layouts.
There is also the matter of cost as well. Due to the nature of their construction, tension canopies are much more expensive than regular pole tents. You will need to decide if the structural and visual benefits are worth the additional expense.

From College Teacher to Tent Manufacturer

I think it is an important and interesting story of how Miami Missionary Tent Manufacturing Company Inc.came into existence. Following is just a little about my father Clair Tromsness who was the founder of Miami Missionary Tent.  (Clair is standing on top of tent in picture).
At age 4, Clair felt God’s call upon his life. As a young man he entered seminary to prepare for the ministry. He recalled that while there he became agnostic. He tried for 5 years to overcome his agnosticism. He finally left seminary and went to school at Stanford University where he received a master’s degree in English. Clair taught college classes in Miami, Oklahoma for 16 years. During this time he was spiritually hungry but was unable to satisfy that hunger.
Then in 1971 he met some Pentecostal Christians who showed him the church of Jesus Christ was alive and vibrant today. Through the faithful prayers and witness of these men, he gave his life to the Lord.
In 1978 the Holy Spirit began to tug gently at his heart. He knew a change was forthcoming. He had met Assemblies of God Missionary-Evangelist Mike Hines. A licensed pilot, Clair had been flying to Central America during summers doing volunteer missions work. His friendship with Mike and the Lord’s leading eventually contributed to a change in his life.
In 1980 Mike called Clair and explained he was planning on holding Good News Crusades throughout Paraguay. He said the Assemblies of God Division of Foreign Missions wanted 50 pole tents for those crusades. Mike asked if he knew of anybody who could build these vinyl tents. Clair felt quickened in his spirit and told Mike he would do it. He had spent the summer before in Central America helping make tents but he knew those tents were leaky and poorly designed. He knew the Lord was calling him to build the best revival tents possible for His work. He resigned from the college and the rest is history.
Miami Missionary Tent has manufactured and shipped church revival tents to 143 countries and possessions around the world. Millions of people have accepted Christ as their personal Savior under our tents. Now we not only have church tents for sale but also event tents, revival tents, wedding tents, circus tents and more. If you want to know “where can I buy a party tent” we are here for you too. Even if you are looking for big tents for sale we have what you need. We can manufacture big pole tents that will cover a football field!
We are now in our 35th year and God continues to richly bless our business. I can’t wait to see what He has planned for Miami Missionary Tent next.
